LIPOA Community Meeting Minutes – 9.20.16

– $12 membership dues from property owners were collected at the beginning of the meeting.

Madonarri Festival: Cyd Wolfe made a presentation on the Little Italy Madonarri Festival which will take place September 30 – October 2 http://littleitalymadonnari.com/

Street closings from 7am Friday, September 30 to 7am Monday, October 3: S High Street from Pratt to Eastern and Stiles Street from S. High to Exeter.  Trinity will remain open to local traffic only so parking will still be available on both sides of Trinity but the streets will be closed at the S. High intersection.  Exeter will be closed to traffic on Sunday, October 2.

Volunteer opportunities for Little Italy residents as setup crew, greeter, merchandise salesperson, artist assistant, survey taker, transportation/driver, storyteller, children’s events assistant and security. Setup begins 5 AM on Friday the 30th at 5 AM. Neighborhood Cleanup: LIPOA hosted a neighborhood cleanup/dumpster on 9/17. Thanks to Conner from Joe Benny’s Foccaceria for organizing and participating in street sweeping, etc.

– Treasurer’s Report: 8.31/16 Balance of $2,268.12

– Social Report: LIPOA social to be hosted by La Scala on Tuesday 10/11/16 from 5:30-7:30 PM. LIPOA social to be held by Aldo’s onTuesday 11/1/16 from 5:30-7:30 PM.

900 Fleet Street (Harbor East) Presentation given by Cliff Cummins of Monument Realty and Jon Laria of Ballard Spahr. There was a motion “to support the rezoning of 900 Fleet Street from M-2-2 to B-2-4 under current zoning and C5-Downtown Core under the proposed Transform Baltimore Zoning Map. Support shall include a caveat that under no circumstances shall the building height exceed 190 feet.” (Note that tenants will not be eligible for Area 14 parking permits).

There was a second to the motion. The motion was voted on and passed by a majority vote of dues paying members.

1000 Eastern Ave Presentation from Al Barry of AB Associates, Marty Marren (architect), Sean (property owner). There was a motion to “support a maximum of 26 residential units with a maximum building height of 70 feet at 1000 Eastern Avenue.Tenants will not be eligible for Zone 14 parking permits.

There was a second to the motion. The motion was voted on and passed by a majority vote of dues paying members.
